DTI Group, a Switzerland-based document automation company, built COGNAiO, an agentic AI platform on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Foundry (including Azure Document Intelligence, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Azure Database for PostgreSQL) that interprets, validates, and acts on information in documents, emails, images, and data feeds by meaning and context rather than templates. Users describe processes in natural language to deploy agents without code. One retail bank customer processing over 50,000 loan agreements annually reduced processing time per case by 80% using COGNAiO. In a high-volume banking deployment, the platform processed pages in an average of 2.5 seconds against a required service-level threshold of 6 to 9 seconds, with document understanding and validation accuracy approaching 99%.

Albert Heijn revolutionizes the store employee experience using Azure OpenAI

Albert Heijn, one of the largest supermarket chains in the Netherlands with over 700 owned stores and more than 80,000 store employees, built a conversational assistant within its @AH Employee App using Azure OpenAI, hosted on Azure Kubernetes Service with data stored in Azure Database for PostgreSQL. Developed with Microsoft and partner EPAM, the assistant answers store employees' questions about restocking and customer requests, including a barcode scanner and store floorplan. It has been piloted in eight stores with plans to scale to 25 stores in summer 2025 and eventually all 700 owned stores.
