KARL STORZ achieves 97% active usage of Microsoft 365 Copilot across a governed MedTech AI rollout
KARL STORZ, a German MedTech company headquartered in Tuttlingen that develops medical instruments and operating room solutions for a global workforce of nearly 10,000 employees, adopted Microsoft 365 Copilot to give employees generative AI productivity for meeting summaries, drafting, and information retrieval without moving regulated data outside its existing governed Microsoft 365 environment. Because Copilot respects existing data permission structures, it only surfaces documents users are already authorized to access, letting IT extend AI capabilities without reworking governance for its regulated, multi-region operations. Active usage reached 97% across approximately 2,000 licensed users, with 93% returning month over month; the company is now expanding the rollout to 5,000 licenses.
