Overview

Grupo Boticário, the world's largest beauty retail franchise with over 4,000 points of sale, standardized on GitHub Enterprise Cloud to unify a fragmented developer toolchain and made GitHub Copilot available to all 1,900 developer seats. In an internal survey, 94% of developers felt more productive and 90% reported spending less effort on repetitive tasks, with the total number of lines of code accepted via Copilot exceeding 2 million in 2024.

The challenge

Fragmentation, complexity, and a need for developers to manage too many different tools slowed the pace of development at Grupo Boticário, even as software became more important to the company. Many developers were using a mix of tools including TFS and Azure DevOps, resulting in a fragmented developer toolchain with a variety of source code management and CI/CD tools that made it challenging for teams to work quickly and efficiently.

The solution

Grupo Boticário standardized on GitHub Enterprise Cloud to centralize development efforts and accelerate time to production, streamlining processes with GitHub Actions and helping developers stay in the flow with GitHub Copilot. Copilot was made available to every developer in the company to kickstart adoption. The company also uses GitHub Actions and the GitHub REST API to pull logs from tools including SonarCloud, Fortify, Argo CD and Dependabot into a single pipeline.
