Stadtwerke Pforzheim (about 610 employees) run AI projects on Microsoft Copilot: a bot for creating SAP purchase requests, a press coach, agents for operating manuals across utility lines, OCR of meter reading cards, and a checklist bot in testing. Employees have created around 190 of their own agents, plus about ten centrally built ones. The company is checking open-source solutions that run locally, citing data sovereignty, governance and manageable infrastructure; its test environment is not enough for broader production.
