The challenge
TMAP Mobility's existing data environment was poorly suited to manage massive data volumes; data accessibility was extremely limited, general users struggled to explore or utilize data, causing heavy reliance on data specialists and frequent bottlenecks that reduced productivity, while rigid permission controls and an inflexible governance system hindered handling of personal data and stalled AI-driven personalization efforts.
The solution
TMAP Mobility adopted the Databricks Data + AI Platform. With Genie Space, non-data specialists can directly explore and analyze data using natural language commands. TMAP implemented granular permission management and a data ownership system using Unity Catalog, including column masking policies. Databricks SQL provides fast, governed access to curated data, Databricks Notebooks enable deeper analytical workflows, and dashboards on AWS support interactive reporting and performance monitoring. TMAP also integrated the Recommendation Engines Solution Accelerator to prototype and deploy scalable recommendation models faster.
