The challenge
Jabil faced challenges with large volumes of machine data siloed at individual sites across more than 100 manufacturing facilities in more than 25 countries, lacking a centralized place for data, especially for analytics requiring cross-domain data, which limited its ability to quickly develop data analytics solutions to respond to business demands.

Jabil collaborated with AWS Professional Services and the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center to build an intelligent shop floor assistant, a chatbot powered by generative AI on Amazon Q Business, giving manufacturing floor operators instant access to troubleshooting and diagnostic information drawn from relevant documents, incident tickets, and knowledge articles across multiple systems. The first iteration was built in one week, with additional data sources integrated over the following weeks. Its Fii Omniverse Digital Twin (FODT) platform creates virtual replicas of factories, enabling simulation-driven design, real-time monitoring, and optimized operations.
