IBM's leadership believes successful AI adoption depends on making AI easy to use within the processes and tools employees rely on every day, and sought to give IBM consultants access to its enterprise AI-delivery platform without requiring them to leave their everyday Microsoft 365 tools.

The solution

IBM integrated its IBM Consulting Advantage AI-delivery platform into Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook) via Microsoft Copilot, giving consultants direct access to IBM's AI assistants, assets and applications — including the Assets Agent, IBM Institute for Business Value Agent, Ask Offerings Agent, Partnerships Agent and Ask WOW Stories Agent — from within their everyday Microsoft tools, with Copilot as the interface.
