The challenge
AVIS sought to innovate within the car rental market to meet growing customer expectations for faster services accessible instantly, regardless of location.
The solution
AVIS partnered with Nativa, which used LivePerson's conversational technology to design and implement reservation bots that complete the car rental process in real time without human assistance — providing quotes, confirmations, modifications and payments — via WhatsApp and Web Messaging. Nativa customized the bot's Natural Language Understanding (NLU) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) capabilities so it can automatically detect customer intents by processing information about cities, airports and available branches, and integrated it with AVIS's databases for real-time transactional capabilities.
Reported business value
Through Nativa's continuous optimization from October 2021 to February 2022 and beyond, bot understanding (Intent Match Rate) rose from 50-60% to a current 88.3%. Containment rate rose from 8.4% to 31.5% and now reaches 69.9%. Average monthly customer satisfaction (CSAT) grew from 82.5% in 2022 to 91.1% in 2024 and 91.4% in 2025.

KLM deploys AI to reduce in-flight food waste
KLM uses a machine-learning model called TRAYS, developed with Kickstart AI, to predict how many booked passengers will actually board a flight so its Meals On Board System can calculate the exact number of meals needed. The prediction runs from 17 days before departure until 20 minutes before departure and has cut food waste by up to 63% based on the expected number of passengers per flight, saving more than 100,000 kg of meals a year across flights catered from Schiphol.
TMAP Mobility Powers Smarter, Safer Travel
TMAP Mobility, Korea's leading mobile navigation service with over 25 million subscribers and adoption in more than 95% of domestic vehicles, adopted the Databricks Platform to address data access and governance roadblocks that stalled AI-driven personalization efforts. Using Genie Space, non-data specialists can now explore and analyze data with natural language, and Unity Catalog provides granular permission management and column masking. As of September 2025, the analytics team receives 68% fewer simple data extraction requests, and approximately 48% of all employees can directly explore and utilize data. TMAP processes more than 7.3 billion mobility data points annually and used the Recommendation Engines Solution Accelerator to prototype and deploy scalable recommendation models faster.
Safari365 boosts internal efficiency 30% with Salesforce Agentforce AI agents
Safari365, a bespoke African safari travel company, deployed Salesforce Agentforce AI agents to automate low-value, repetitive tasks such as reconfirming supplier bookings and generating personalized 'day notes' for customer itineraries. The company started with internal-use agents built with human-in-the-loop oversight, iterating using the Agentforce Testing Center. Impact included a 30% increase in internal efficiency, quotes delivered in 30 minutes versus 2-3 manually generated per day previously, and a six-week time-to-value from signing to live deployment.
