Welt TV launches AI-generated news show with a synthetic avatar presenter

Welt TV, owned by Axel Springer, launched a five-minute AI-generated news programme hosted by a synthetic avatar modelled on reporter Paul Klinzing. Around 90% of the programme, including topic selection and scriptwriting, is produced using AI. Axel Springer has also rolled out WELTgo!, a GPT-based assistant for subscribers, and uses AI to repurpose older broadcasts for new platforms.
