Waymo
Waymo's autonomous ride-hailing service scaled significantly in 2025, beginning to serve over 1 million fully autonomous rides every month starting that spring, and serving over 14 million trips in 2025 alone (more than tripling public rides from the prior year), putting it on track to exceed 20 million lifetime trips by year end. Riders spent over 3.8 million hours in Waymo vehicles. The all-electric fleet helped riders avoid over 18 million kilograms of CO2 emissions, 3x more than the prior year, while achieving more than a 10-fold reduction in serious injury or worse crashes compared to human drivers. Waymo plans to expand ride-hailing operations to over 20 additional cities in 2026, including international cities like Tokyo and London, and is expanding freeway riding and airport service (San Jose Mineta, San Francisco International, and Miami International airports).
