Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
HHS's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) enforces the HIPAA Rules, ensures equal access to certain health and human services, and protects the privacy and security of health information. Individuals may file a complaint with OCR if they believe their health information privacy rights under the HIPAA Rules were violated.
